Tampa is located on the western coast of Florida in Hillsborough County. Tampa enjoys warm weather, averaging daily temperatures of 72 degrees. Summers can be hot and humid and December through May are
considered winter and the optimal time to visit. Tampa’s largest festival and celebration is Gasparilla, when the city is invaded by thousands of pirates on land and the sea. It has recently been nicknamed ‘Champa’, as the
Buccaneers and Lightning brought home championship trophies. Tampa was originally a cigar producing city, but its markets and industries now include biomedical manufacturing, brewing and citrus canning among others. Some of its notable tourist attractions include the HB Plant Museum, Curtis Hixton Park and the River
walk, Armature Works, Sparkman’s Wharf as well as Bush Gardens.
